Pobitora and Kaziranga Holiday Tour
While Kaziranga is the most popular wildlife reserve in Assam, Pobitora is a lesser-known destination. Combining the two wildlife reserves, a 4-day itinerary has been tailored to explore and enjoy the thrilling wildlife safaris.
Day 01: Reach Guwahati
Reach Guwahati by flight or by train. The airport in Guwahati connects internationally. Check in to your hotel and after wrapping up the formalities and settling your luggage, begin your sightseeing at Guwahati. Begin by visiting Kamakhya Devi Temple, one of the significant pilgrimage spots for Hindus and among the ancient temples of the 51 Shakti Peeths. If you are planning to offer oblations at Kamakhya Temple, then save the other sightseeing for the next day. For the same day, after Kamakhya Devi Temple, visit Umananda Island, Assam State Museum, Guwahati Planetarium, Deepor Beel, Guwahati Zoo and Nehru Park. Return to your hotel and stay overnight.
Day 02: Head towards Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive towards Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Leave early in the morning and explore the sanctuary's nature and wilderness all day. The distance from Guwahati to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is approximately 56 km, and it will take around 2 hours to reach it. It is better to conduct the Pobitora online safari booking for the evening jeep safari and boat safari, if time permits. After the safari rides, head back to your hotel at Pobitora to spend the night.
Day 03: Transfer to Kaziranga National Park
Go for the morning elephant safari in Pobitora National Park. Return to your hotel from the safari and, after breakfast, check out to explore Kaziranga National Park. The distance is about 173 km, and it will take approximately 4 hours to reach Kaziranga. Check in to a hotel and prepare for the first round of Kaziranga safari. Pre-book the tickets for the late afternoon slots. Retreat to your room after the day’s activity. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Day 04: Departure
Go for an early morning elephant ride in the dedicated Kaziranga safari zone. Return to the hotel and check out after breakfast. Move to Guwahati and depart from Guwahati International Airport or Guwahati Railway Station.
